Off to Maine, first Sebago Lake and then on to Acadia National Park. We stayed at the Moorings in Belfast, ME which is overlooking Penobscot Bay. We love this RV Park and the people are great. Belfast has it's own specialties and we always take in fresh lobster/clams and this time made a trip to Perry's Nut House. On the way to Acadia is Fort Knox (named after the same man but not to be confused with the southern Fort Knox. the bridge has a viewing tower at the top which gave spectacular views. At Acadia we drove the touring road as well as boarded a boat tour and visited Cranberry Island which allowed us to get the fishing island feel.

In August, as we continued our RV travels around New England, we saw the "Eagle" tall ship US Coast Guard in Portsmouth, NH. The "Ghost" was onsite too. We also went on a great whale watch out of Newburyport, MA.

We then headed North on Route 7 to Shelbourne, VT to visit our daughter and family in Essex, VT. Unfortunately, we missed Shyla as she was away at Burklyn Ballet Theatre in Johnson, VT. We did have wonderful visit with Heather, Rob, Landin and Aubree and visited Shelbourne Museum before heading back to NH.

We arrived at Lake Bomoseen KOA in Castleton, VT in order to be as close as possible to our daughter and family in Shrewsbury. A nice KOA with a great pool and "kiddy pool" enjoyed by all. We enjoyed visiting Kate and Mesh's new home on 10 acres with lots of room for growing boys, Isley and Lewin. We had a wonderful visit and enjoyed meeting their friends as well. While there, we visited Proctor, VT,  the Vermont Marble Museum. So interesting (Marble bridge, HS, church and fire station all constructed with local marble) and found many places we have visited this year (Hearst Castle included) where the marble was from and sculpted in Proctor.

Over July 4 - July 8, we stayed at Newfound Rv Park, located in the Lakes region of New Hampshire. We visited Wellington State Park Beach and traveled a short distance to Squam Lake to visit the Nature Science Center in Holderness, NH. There we spent the day viewing all the trails, animals and education centers as well as animated dinosaurs finishing the day with a cruise on the Lake to hear the biologists talk about the nesting and preservation and see the Loons and new babies. We also toured Kirkwood Gardens and viewed our friend, artist's sculpture (Carrie Gant Quade) there.

We stayed  in Michigan City, Indiana, along Lake Michigan - just long enough to go to the Indiana Dunes National Park and Lakeshore. It was a perfect day, 75 degrees and sunny so after visiting Mt. Baldy, we grabbed a sandwich to picnic with at Kemil Beach after driving along historic and picturesque Lakefront Drive where the futuristic homes of the 1933 Chicago World's Fair have been permanently placed overlooking Lake Michigan. We then drove to West Beach and hiked the Dune Succession trail among the dunes (on boardwalks so not to disturb the dunes).

While passing through Wisconsin, we stayed at the KOA in De Forest, WI. A small town with very friendly and family owned businesses. Included is Ehlenbach's Cheese. A family business for 4 generations, they have every  known possibility of cheeses types and flavors. All made from local ingredients, making Wisconsin so famous for their cheese. There are many Cheese stores such as this all throughout WI.

Mitchell, SD is home to the world's only Corn Palace. No joke, it actually was amazing as the murals inside and the entire outside of the building is made of corn. Each year, beginning in August, the exterior is exchanged with a new theme for the corn made murals.

We arrived in Rapid City on Monday, 6/3/19, fortunately missing the golf ball sized hail and storm here on Sunday, 6/2. Here we went to Mt. Rushmore and Crazy Horse on Tuesday.
Today, we went to the Badlands National Park. Great views and unique geological formations from volcanic activity long ago .
